Why this cluster suits a car
Casa Loma sits on the escarpment above Davenport Road, and the approach is genuinely steep. It is reachable on transit, but the walk up from the nearest subway station is the part visitors remember for the wrong reasons — particularly with children, in summer heat, or in winter.
From the castle it is a short drive down to the ROM at Bloor and Avenue, and Yorkville is immediately east of that. Three very different stops inside a compact area.
Timing
Casa Loma — ninety minutes for the house, gardens and towers, longer if there is a seasonal event on. Mornings are quietest.
ROM — two hours does the highlights; a genuinely interested visitor will spend four.
Yorkville — an hour or two for lunch and the shops on Bloor and Cumberland.
Half a day covers Casa Loma plus one of the other two. All three is a comfortable full day with lunch.
Access notes
Casa Loma has a driveway for drop-off; its car park is small and fills quickly at weekends, which is the main argument for being dropped rather than driving yourself.
The ROM's entrance on Bloor Street is straightforward for drop-off. Parking in the area is garage-based and expensive.
Yorkville streets are narrow, metered and busy. The standard pattern applies: drop at the door, chauffeur holds nearby, returns on your call.
Seasonal events
Casa Loma runs a heavy programme of seasonal events — summer garden concerts, Halloween and Christmas programming — and on those dates the site is materially busier and timed tickets matter.
Check the castle's own site for current hours, event dates and ticketing before you plan the day around it.
