The site
BMO Field sits inside Exhibition Place on the western waterfront, the same grounds that host the CNE and a rolling programme of trade shows. It is home to Toronto FC and the Argonauts.
The grounds have a handful of vehicle entrances and they are managed actively on event days. What worked last time may not be open this time, particularly when two events run concurrently.
Arriving
Allow more time than the distance suggests. From downtown it is a ten-minute drive on a quiet day and closer to thirty an hour before kickoff.
Drop-off points on match day are set by the grounds staff and can shift. Your chauffeur will take you to the closest open access point — which is another argument for a booked driver over an app, since the app's pin may point at a gate that is closed.
Leaving
The same discipline as every large venue: agree a collection point before you go in, ideally outside the grounds on Lake Shore or to the north, and walk the few minutes out.
Exhibition Place empties onto a small number of roads, and the Gardiner on-ramps nearby saturate quickly. Walking five minutes north routinely beats waiting fifteen inside the grounds.
Supporters' sections and atmosphere
TFC's supporters' sections generate a genuinely good atmosphere and arrive early. If you are bringing people who have not been, arriving 45 minutes out is part of the experience rather than a chore.
Check the fixture list and any concurrent Exhibition Place events on the venue's own site before planning your timings — a trade show finishing as a match starts is the difference between ten minutes and forty.
